Our next Art Literacy project will be a beautiful cityscape on water. We will need 2-3 volunteers in each classroom once volunteers are permitted in the building again. Sign up now and we will contact you once we are able to schedule a training and begin the project.
The Art Literacy program, sponsored by the Booster Club, helps bring art into the classroom through projects based on significant artists and artistic styles or concepts. Each lesson combines an introduction of the artist with a hands-on project. This study of famous artists and styles helps students think more creatively, make observations, connect to history and cultural traditions, and better communicate ideas and emotions. Parent Art Lit volunteers work in their child’s classroom.
All materials are provided and NO ARTISTIC ABILITY IS REQUIRED! When volunteers attend the training, they not only learn the materials and have an opportunity to ask any questions they may have, but also get an opportunity to practice the project. Each project is designed to take no more than 1 hour of classroom time and no more than 30 minutes of prep time.
You can sign up to help with art lit in your child’s class. Each class needs at least 2 volunteers for each project, which occur 3 times per year. You can sign up with your teacher or contact the Boosters at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also sign up for our mailing list to receive updates so you know when new projects begin and visit our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/OrencoBoosterClub/ for additional information.
